 Entrepreneur in You- Sevenoaks School

“I find it quite inspirational hearing about other peoples success and I feel that the enthusiasm of my coach helped me understand it better than I might do otherwise.”

Student, Sevenoaks

On 26th January 2015, 162 Lower 6th students from Sevenoaks School were involved in a one day Entrepreneur in You programme. This is the 4th year that we have run this programme with Sevenoaks School.

The Entrepreneur in You (EiY) programme gave students an insight as to how business ideas are generated, brand building, demand and supply, sales, marketing techniques, and product development. The day ended with the Trading Game, where students pitched their business ideas to outside buyers. The programme was supported by eight EiA coaches.

The students were introduced to the world of entrepreneurs and business, the importance of the 4 P’s of marketing: price, promotion, placement and product. The programme began with a chat show with Steve Jackson from Xoomworks, James Cornwall from Area sq, Helen Westgate from Westgate Communications and Kirsteen Allen from Ten2Two. The students were then given the opportunity to use all that was learned over the day to create a product or service that could be sold or pitched during the trading session to the buyers. The Trading Game provided a real opportunity for the students to connect their learning from the day in a “real” competitive environment as students competed against each other for the custom of the buyers.
