Groups of young people in year 10 of three inner comprehensive schools, all of whom had no family history of participation in higher education, were offered the opportunity of becoming familiar with a university enviroment so that this previously unknown prgression option might become a viable choice for them.
The students, nominated by thier schools were delighted to have been given the opportunity to take part and have been loud in the expression of their enthusiasm. The businesses, Barclays plc Angel Trains, that set challenges, were impressed by the young people's work, the professionalism of the presentations made and the value, to the businesses, of the solutions presented.
